Is Leafield becoming a “Rat Run” for Lorries?

Since Burford closed its bridge to lorries over 7.5 tonnes, have you noticed more of them rumbling – some speeding – past your house? If so, do you want to do something about it?

Leafield Parish Council need evidence to lobby Burford and the County Council to show that some of the traffic Burford has turned away has become ours. For the weeks commending 12 and 19 October, we need villagers to count and identify vehicles at the T Junction on The Green, ideally Monday to Friday, with 2-3 villagers per shift, running 7.30am – 9am, 11am – 12.30pm, and 3pm – 4.30pm. Shifts at other times are welcome, if none of these work for you. Training and instruction will be provided.

For more information, email Richard at richard.hamilton@leafieldparishcouncil.org, including your name, telephone number, how many in your household would like to help and what days and shifts are convenient for you.

With village wide help, we can keep our village a village and not a lorry rat run. Please sign up!
